A LEADING scaffolding firm has been appointed for the £5million Kingsway House development.

Teal Scaffold Limited, part of The Sovini Group, won the extensive contract following a ‘competitive’ proposal process and have now began erecting their ‘bespoke access solution’.

The ‘system staircase design’ will allow works to complete the regeneration on the building as safely and securely as possible.

The nine-story high rise block, originally built in the 1960s, is now owned by regeneration group, Torus, which has recently appointed construction team, HMS for the remodelling of all interiors.

Ste Simm, Torus project manager expressed the company’s gratitude for the firm’s involvement within the project.

He said: “The excellent service Teal Scaffold is providing facilitates the essential refurbishment works on the building.”How the apartments should look upon completion

As well as a visual update, Kingsway House will benefit from new wall insulation, incorporating stone wool insulation and a non-combustible render.

Commenting on the positive impact the regeneration project will have on the residents, Mr Simm added: “The refurbishment will create a modern block that will not only look great, but will also help to reduce carbon emissions, whilst benefiting tenants by improving energy efficiency, and making their homes warmer.”

Dan McGregor, head of operations at Teal Scaffold expressed the firm’s gratification in their co-operation with the development.

He said: “We are delighted to collaborate with Torus and HMS on this project. Our organisations are like-minded and share strong sense of social responsibility. The Kingsway House contract demonstrates our aptitude, skills, and experience for competing at the highest level in the sector.” The aimed completion date for the project is November 2023.
